Nevertheless, the tournament has already started, delighting its fans with spectacular and beautiful competitive football.
One of the latest news was the news from the Russian Football Union. It was decided that in October, fans will be allowed to attend the matches of the Russian national team in the League of Nations, which will be held in Moscow. We will finally see football action again in its usual form with fans in the stands and, accordingly, a full-fledged atmosphere at matches.
This news was the result of the fact that the Union of European Football Associations on October 1 allowed the admission of spectators to matches under the auspices of this organization in the amount of 30% of the stadium occupancy. At the same time, the final word remains with the local authorities, who must make decisions at their discretion.
The press service of the Russian national team informed the fans that the national team will play the next match with the Swedish national team. This friendly match will be held on October 8 at the "VEB Arena" stadium. The meeting starts at 19:15 Moscow time.
Changes in the composition of the Russian national team for the October matches have become known. Sandhausen defender Alexander Zhirov will be called up from the new players. Recall that this will not be the debut performance of the player. In 2015, Fabio Capello included him in the expanded national team, but Alexander did not play. Defender Ilya Kutepov and striker Alexander Sobolev were also called up to the team. Both players are representatives of Spartak Moscow.
Also at the end of September, UEFA confirmed the rule of 5 substitutions in tournaments held under the auspices of the union. This rule will be valid until the end of the season in the Champions League, the Europa League, the Euro 2020 qualification playoffs, the League of Nations, the European Women's Championship qualification and the Women's Champions League.
