The group stage of the UEFA Nations League will be held in autumn 2020, two rounds will be played every month. The new schedule was announced on June 17 by the UEFA Executive Committee, after a meeting during which the new European football calendar was discussed, as amended by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The national teams will play three matches instead of two traditional matches in October and November 2020. Such a step will allow the organizers to postpone the previously postponed European qualification play-off matches to the beginning of the aforementioned windows on October 8 and November 12, respectively.

The group stage of the League of Nations 2020/21 is divided into 6 rounds throughout the autumn, in September the 1st and 2nd stages will be held on September 3-4 and September 6-8, respectively, the 3rd on October 10-11, the 4th round on October 13 and 14, the 5th round on November 14-15, and the 6th round will be held November 17-18. The friendly matches of the national teams will be played on October 7-8 and the second stage on November 11-12, 2020.
